You may have wondered where I am and what I am doing, after all I haven't blogged much this month which means that life must be really exciting right? wrong. This month has been pretty difficult and I'm not too sure why I have found it such a chore. So what is going on?

Okay seeing as most of the photos are of him I think that I should give you a quick update. He is now coming up to 10 weeks and has doubled in size, he is still very much in the mouthing stage but will hopefully grow out of it soon. He likes chasing the cats, eating leaves, peeing on the carpet and sleeping... which are also all of my favourite hobbies. I'll do another little video of him in the next few weeks so that you can see how he is getting on.

Social life
is basically non existent, I have gone out about... once this month in a social context. I am in such a rut at the moment that I may as well just call myself a hermit and move on. It is really starting to get me down that I don't have close friends like I used to, but I am struggling with reconnecting to my friends.

Love life
nope, still hilariously non existent... moving on.

Spending ban
Is going strong with a few days to go, technically I have got through the hardest part because I've got through the pay days so now the money in my bank account is for the post ban period it's just getting through that. I'm thinking of extending it until the london meetup at the end of the month but I do have a few bits and bobs I want so I haven't quite made my mind up.

And that is the low down, i've got ideas lined up for next months blog posts already so hopefully i'll be around a bit more- tell me what you've been up to and how do you deal with a bit of a life slump?

Finally.... I just wanted to share a really sweet post with you which was written by Emily from Trial and Error Beauty Blog She sent me a lovely email to let me know that she wanted to feature me in an upcoming series which I thought was so nice. If you want to read it then click here and make sure you look at her blog as she is a great writer.

Urban Decay Supercurl Mascara review

Urban Decay Supercurl Mascara- £15.00

Supercurl is without a doubt my absolute favourite mascara, I have been using it for about a year and I have only just realised that I have never shared this with you guys . I have slightly odd eyelashes, they're long and quite dense but only in the middle, towards my nose they get get short and fine and towards my ear they get spidery and seem to always point downwards. I also rarely bother to curl my lashes so that probably doesn't help. Because of this I am super fussy when picking a mascara and will always go back to one that I love.

The Wand has a spoon curve to it with short plastic spikes to it, by applying the mascara with the indent against the lashes, it builds a lovely natural curl and the short spikes help to separate and define each eyelash. If you go in for a second coat then you can build up some volume, but if it is volume you really want- don't expect it from supercurl. The pigmentation is fairly average, they make no claims about this being 'super-black', 'ultra-black' or 'blackest black' this is just... black and you know what? I'm fine with that.

The curl lasts all day, the mascara is easy to remove at the end of the day and it doesn't crumble or go crunchy. It doesn't irritate my eyes and it doesn't transfer onto the upper lid. One bottle lasts me about 6 months because you don't need a lot to create a great look, so whilst it is expensive it also is good value because it just keeps going and going.

Do you like the sound of Urban Decays Supercurl mascara? what is your holy grail mascara?

Eau Thermale Avene- Soothing Eye Contour Cream- review

Eau Thermale Avene- Soothing Eye Contour Cream- review

Eau Thermale Avene Soothing Eye Contour Cream- £9.50

Avene are a brand that have been a cult classic for a while but have only made it onto my radar in the last six months. They are specifically targeted towards sensitive skin (their range is: sensitive/intolerant/allergic) my skin is definitely sensitive as I burn in the sun and can react to skin care if it is too harsh. Because of this gentle approach to their products I have found that my skin loves Avene and their products help to calm some of the environmental attacks as well as helping to keep my skin looking healthy and calm

The soothing eye contour cream is designed to calm irritation and redness around the eye area and contains their thermal water, alpha-bisabolol and dextran sulphate with calm the skin and restore balance. This means a great deal of nothing to me, but I find that I get very puffy eyes in the morning and that they are often sore by the end of the day, one of these ingredients must be doing some good because since I have used this regularly (around two months ago) I haven't suffered from these at all, but at times when I have naughtily skipped a few days I have noticed them becoming irritated again.

I do find that this isn't the most hydrating eye cream around, so if you suffer from sallow under the eye skin or fine lines, then maybe this would need to be paired with something more moisture intensive. But for delicate and sensitive girls like myself, the Avene soothing eye cream is an absolute dream and I would definitely recommend.

May Favourites- VIDEO

This is so late that I actually feel bad. I filmed it last week but with the puppy and exams and a whole load of other things that have been going on, I just haven't had chance to edit. That is also why I haven't been posting much here either, but hopefully things will calm down now and I can get on with what I like best- this place.

That is also why i'm chattering about good weather when it really isn't good any more. Sorry!

I hope you enjoy, remember to subscribe if you want to see more & let me know what products you have been a fan of recently.

Clarins- Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector £17

Recently my Mum was really kind and bought me the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Candy Shimmer as a thank you for helping her with some work. I picked the shade as the colour of the packaging and the swatches online looked such a pretty pink and I thought that it would look really pretty for an every day look. It definitely matched that expectation as it is so lovely and makes my lips look shimmery and natural and it also completely surpasses expectations as it is quite possibly the best lip gloss that I have ever used.

Firstly, I love the little sponge applicator, it helps to make sure that the gloss spreads evenly (rather than looking streaky as some brushes do) and it makes it easy to apply on the go. I was pleasantly surprised at how balmy it felt as it just isn't sticky at all- one thing that I hate is a sticky lip gloss- on the lips it feels really nourishing and lasts for about an hour or so. It also smells really good, sort of like bubblegum or popcorn but it isn't too sickly sweet.

I may be a little bit late to the party on this one as they came out a few months back and have had a lot of hype around them, I normally avoid hyped up products but I am really glad that my mum bought me this one as it is worth the hefty price tag and I definitely recommend this. I think I will be giving some of the other shades a swatch next time I am at a clarins counter!

Meet my puppy- vlog

I'm really proud to introduce you to my new puppy. Freddie is a (now) 7 1/2 week old pedigree Bichon Frise, he is gaining some serious love from all my friends and family who have been round as well as some serious love on instagram and twitter from you guys. I made a really quick little vlog style video for you to meet him and see him playing. If you have any questions, please ask them and I will film a proper video answering them.

Apologies for how shaky the camera is at the beginning, I was too busy trying to chat and play with a puppy at the same time.

Spending Ban halfway update!

I posted last month to say that I was going on a spending ban it has been a whole month since then and I thought I would give you a little update on how it is going. As you may recall, I decided to cut out ANY form of spending that wasn't essential and I am doing so well, I haven't bought anything that I haven't definitely needed.

So this is what I have bought:

A new iPhone.
This may not be an essential to all, but unfortunately mine was stolen at the end of April which was really upsetting and it made me feel really vulnerable. I started having panic attacks about leaving the house without a phone, so after a week I bought a new one. I could have bought a cheaper phone, but I had a year left on my phone contract so shelling out for another iPhone seemed important to me. I call this an essential.

Shampoo and Conditioner.
This was a definite must as I ran out but I made sure that I bought the one on offer.

Acetone and nail hardener.
I needed acetone as I had gel nails on and then afterwards my nails went so soft that they were splitting below the nail bed- painful! so I decided that I was going to have to buy a treatment before they got worse.

That is it! I'm pretty proud of myself for going from spending an awful lot on beauty products, to spending under £20 on essentials. There is nothing that I should run out of this month either, brilliant.

I'm finding it so much easier than I thought I would as well, I thought that I would have a huge list of items that I wanted to buy but I actually don't want anything. I think I will definitely change the way that I shop in future as I have realised that I could probably go a long time without needing to buy anything at all.

Make sure you check out the blogs of the lovely ladies who are doing the ban with meSasha Natasha and Rachel. They are doing really well as well, so proud of all of us!
